The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R. Whearty, rider of Lion Ring trained by Thomas Coyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount clipped a heel after a furlong.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident entering the final furlong involving Scarlet Dancer, ridden by Sam Ewing, and Pulse Of Shanghai, ridden by L.T. McAteer where it appeared that they came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

003C Floodlit Fridays Return To Dundalk H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Jaafel, ridden by S.D. Bowen, Benavente (GB), ridden by N.M. Crosse, and Hypernova, ridden by H.J. Horgan where it appeared Hypernova ran out of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Hugh Horgan stated he was going backwards when he felt pressure from his right. Nathan Crosse stated his mount was leaning right but did not feel he caused any interference. Sean Bowen stated he was running on late and had to switch off heels inside the final furlong. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted but advised Sean Bowen to ride with more awareness. Sean Bowen was accompanied by Michael Kavanagh for this enquiry.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, S.D. Bowen, rider of Jaafel, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Beaumadier trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away and hung right in the straight.

Sam Ewing, rider of Steps In The Sand trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the final furlong involving Steps In The Sand, ridden by Sam Ewing, and Anjah, ridden by R. Whearty where it appeared Steps In The Sand moved left bumping Anjah. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Robert Whearty stated that he kept straight but received a small bump from his outside. Sam Ewing stated that he was full of horse and moved left off heels and made slight contact with Anjah. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Sam Ewing was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for one raceday.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Meritorious (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

J. Kearney, rider of Bambeano trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of El Tren trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not let himself down.

Jack Enright, rider of Eastern Tornado trained by Michael P. Hourigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Mark Fahey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Bambeano, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mark Fahey, Trainer, stated that nothing came to light after the last run and that the horse seemed to appreciate todays surface. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Reigles (GB) trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Rossmore Nation trained by Anthony Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that she had to check turning out of the back straight.
