The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Clatter Bang, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who admitted that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account suspended him for three race days.
331E2 DundalkStadium.com H'capThe Stewards enquired into an incident approximately a furlong and a half from the finish involving Kendred Soul, ridden by C.D. Hayes, Royal Scholar, ridden by S.M. Crosse, Take My Hand, ridden by B.M. Coen, and On The Spot ridden by A.C. Persse where it appeared Kendred Soul got bumped and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes stated that his mount travelled well early behind the pace, until running into congestion and getting a bump at his girth at which point he was forced to take back. S.M. Crosse stated that he took his time, his mount quickened well between horses at which point On The Spot appeared to shift and carry him. B.M. Coen stated that horses in front drifted and caused him to check and shift onto Royal Scholar who in turn shifted onto Kendred Soul. A.C. Persse stated that he sat second, his filly picked up at the two pole before she began to fade and may have shifted slightly. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Kendred Soul trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got a bump in the straight.
