017A Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk H'cap

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from H.D. McGuigan trainer of Nearly A Gonna for an additional ten minutes to present the animal for identification by an IHRB official, as provided for under the provisions of Rule 90(i).

H.J. Horgan, rider of Havana Notion (GB), trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Bonny Power, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed third, Astral Beat, unplaced, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and Phil's Dream, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, placed first, where it appeared that Phil's Dream was briefly short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the start of this race where it appeared stalls one and twelve may have opened a fraction earlier than the other stalls. Evidence was heard from the IHRB Starter Mr. P. L. Malone, who confirmed that the stalls were tested before racing as is standard practice. He added that Haumea, drawn in stall one and Adams Barbour in stall twelve seemed to anticipate the start resulting in the other stalls opening fractionally slower. Having viewed all the footage and considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that although the other stalls appeared to open fractionally slower than stall one and twelve they were satisfied that Haumea and Adams Barbour did not gain a material advantage so they allowed the result to stand. Furthermore they requested that the stalls be tested again before the next race.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from John C. McConnell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Phil's Dream, placed first, as compared with its recent form. John C. McConnell reported that the horse has been disappointing on previous runs and was unable to offer an explanation for todays improved performance. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

K.J. Leonard, rider of No Speed Limit (FR), trained by Patrick J. McKenna, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount anticipated the start, hit the gate and stumbled.

Lee Smyth, trainer of Astral Beat, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge hit the stalls.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Phil's Dream, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hit the stalls.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Adams Barbour, trained by Lee Smyth, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount anticipated the start, hit the gates and stumbled.

R.D. Leahy, rider of Haumea, trained by Patrick J.Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount hit the gate.

Leanne Breen, trainer of Betrayed (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge sustained a cut to the head.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Betrayed (GB), trained by Leanne Breen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that the stall was slow to open for his mount.

S. Foley, rider of Reinforce, trained by Daniel James Murphy, requested to the Clerk of the Scales that the stalls be re tested.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Nearly A Gonna (GB) trained by H.D. McGuigan was found to have had blood at both nostrils post race.

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from D J Bunyan & G O'Leary trainer of Cusrory Exam for an additional ten minutes to present the animal for identification by an IHRB official, as provided for under the provisions of Rule 90(i).

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Sky Legend (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount tried to duck left at the one furlong pole.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of In The Cheap Seats (GB), trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

017C Dundalk Winter Series Championship Race

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, R.P. Whelan, rider of Star Harbour, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced throughout and just stayed on one paced in the home straight.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the two furlong mark involving Hale Bopp, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed second and Barrys Rock,unplaced, ridden by R.P. Cleary where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Cleary stated that he took a precautionary check. R.C. Colgan stated that he maintained his racing line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Atlas, ridden by Alyse Jane Clarke and Lynskey, ridden by W. Joyce, where Atlas appeared to have ran short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

017D2 Join Us On Social Channels H'cap

The Raceday Stewards received a request from Kevin Thomas Coleman, trainer, to replace Calum Hogan (7) with J.M. Sheridan on Fleetfootsoldier, as the nominated rider Calum Hogan was unwell. Evidence was heard from Kevin Thomas Coleman who stated that J.M. Sheridan had home experience with Fleetfootsoldier, who can be a difficult ride on course. Having considered the evidence the raceday stewards denied the request on this occasion and asked Kevin Thomas Coleman to find a more like for like rider. Subsequently Kevin Thomas Coleman requested that C.J. Redmond (5) take the ride and race day stewards granted permission.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident approximately two furlongs from home involving Bucky Larson, ridden by D. McMonagle, Zahee, ridden by K.G. Kennedy and Chancey Approach, ridden by C. Horgan, where it appeared Chancey Approach drifted left slightly. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Butterfly Bush, trained by Natalia Lupini, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

017F View Restaurant Dundalk Apprentice M'dn

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from David Harry Kelly trainer of Spring Collection for an additional ten minutes to present the animal for identification by an IHRB official, as provided for under the provisions of Rule 90(i).

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from T J O'Mara trainer of Charlie Brow'n for an additional ten minutes to present the animal for identification by an IHRB official, as provided for under the provisions of Rule 90(i).

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the home straight involving Bungle Inthedesert, ridden by D.A Kidd, unplaced, Gianh River, ridden by W. Joyce, unplaced, Miqdaad, ridden by H.J. Horgan, placed first and Shanadar, ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed sixth, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.A Kidd stated that he had to sit for a stride. S.T. McCullagh stated that he suffered no interference. W. Joyce stated that he felt pressure from his right. H.J. Horgan stated that he had corrected his amount as quickly as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that while Miqdaad had caused interference he had not improved his finishing position as a result of this interference so they therefore made no alterations to the judges placings. Furthermore the stewards were satisfied that H.J. Horgan had taken reasonable steps to avoid causing interference and they therefore took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the first bend involving Bungle Inthedesert, ridden by D.A Kidd, unplaced, Come On The Lads, ridden by J. Cleary, placed fifth, Gallo Dell Cielo, ridden by R. Donaghue-Leahy, unplaced and Inverbrena, ridden by R.M Mulligan, uplaced, where it appeared interference had occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.A Kidd stated that there was general bunching. J. Cleary stated that his horse ran keen and took a knock. R. Donaghue-Leahy stated that she felt pressure from her outside. R.M Mulligan stated that his mount was pushed out. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any one rider and therefore took no further action.
