J Coen replaced Siobhan Rutledge on Arctic Blaze, trained by John C. McConnell (Race 8)(unwell)

367A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Obtain (GB), trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

367B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

C.D. Hayes, rider of Barbapapa trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to check one and half furlongs from the finish.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Dubirango trained by F.Birrane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung very badly.

The Stewards reviewed an incident early in the straight involving Barbapapa, ridden by C.D. Hayes and Dubirango, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, where it appeared Barbapapa had the check. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Barbapapa, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hypernova, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

M.P. Sheehy, rider of Designer Cailin trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount shortened its action in the last furlong.

367D Crowne Plaza Hotel H'cap

The Stewards interviewed H.J. Horgan, rider of San Andreas, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Regulation having miscounted his number of strikes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that H.J. Horgan was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and considering his record, they suspended him for 4 racedays.

H.J. Horgan, rider of San Andreas trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked his head down when the gates opened.

367E BetVictor Loyalty Club M'dn

J. Kearney, rider of Swift Beauty trained by Norman Lee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount reared up and unseated him as the gates opened. The Stewards reviewed the video in the company of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Starter Mr. J.R. Banahan and took no further action other than to instruct Norman Lee that Swift Beauty will have to be recertified prior to being declared to run again.

J. Coen, rider of Sunwalk (GB) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Shamrock Sprig trained by Eoin Joseph McDonagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keen early on.

367F Happy Christmas From All At Dundalk Hcap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Raamez, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Joupe, trained by Peter Lawlor, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed H.J. Horgan, rider of Grandmaster Flash, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that the first strike was corrective purposes as his mount was hanging. Having viewed the footage and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that the first strike was for corrective purposes and his remaining strikes did not breach the Regulation and therefore took no further action.

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the straight involving Grandmaster Flash, ridden by H.J. Horgan and Zoom Tiger, ridden by Izzy Clifton, where it appeared Grandmaster Flash crossed Zoom Tiger. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
