The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mount Parnassus, trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Deo Vero, trained by David J. Geary, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run.
106B GAIN First Flier StakesThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Morning Vietnam (GB), trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
106C Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Tetrarch StakesS. Foley, rider of Norwalk Havoc (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from A. Oliver, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Bright Stripes, placed first, as compared with its recent form. A. Oliver, trainer, stated that today's more favourable ground conditions may have helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.
106D Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pepper Noir, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
106E Coolmore Little Big Bear EBF Athasi StksThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jumbly (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
106F Coolmore Irish EBF Mooresbridge StakesThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, in relation to the behaviour of his lead horse which accompanied Maxux to the start and contributed to a delay in the off time of this race, and also in relation to the animal wearing a hood, contrary to the provisions of Regulation 13. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who apologised for the conduct of his lead horse and stated that the animal is normally very dependable. In relation to the wearing of a hood, Mr. O'Brien stated that he was unaware of the stipulation that a lead horse could not wear a hood. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action in relation to the behaviour of the animal in question, but were satisfied that Joseph Patrick O'Brien was in breach Regulation 13(6)(wearing a hood) and having considered his clean record, they issued a fine of €200 on this occasion. Mrs. Caroline Corballis' Raceday Steward, recused herself from this enquiry.
106G Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Apprentice HcapThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Orandi (FR), ridden by J. Kearney, placed first, Zabeir, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, and Loingseoir, ridden by C. Geerdharry, placed fifth where it appeared interference may have occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Powell stated that he received pressure from his left approaching the two furlong pole. C. Geerdharry stated that he made a manouvere to his right to avoid beaten horses and made contact with Zabier. J. Kearney stated that he was on the outside of the incident and received slight pressure from his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found C. Geerdharry was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence)the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed W. Joyce, rider of Come On The Lads, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. W. Joyce accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found W. Joyce was in breach of R.10.3(h)(arm above shoulder height) and in considering his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for four racedays.
Gillian Scott, trainer of Racing Royalty (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge lost a front shoe in running.
J.A. Powell, rider of Zabeir, trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room.
106H Holden Plant Rentals H'capS. Foley, rider of Run Forrest Run, trained by Micky Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled a shoe.
W.J. Lee, rider of Loma Larnee (GB), trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused to race.
Adam Caffrey, rider of Half Nutz, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mounts bit broke.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed A. Oliver, trainer, in relation to the behavour of Loma Larnee, who stood in the stalls and refused to race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that his charge shows plenty of ability and although it had a previous warning for refusing to race, the animal had since raced without any difficulty. Furthermore, the trainer asked for a final opportunity to address the issue. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards took no further action on this occasion other than to advise the trainer that a repeat performance in the behaviour of his charge will render the animal liable to suspension.
