The Stewards enquired into an incident about one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Kazakdaria, ridden by C.D. Hayes, Kerkiyra, ridden by B.M. Coen, Effernock Fizz, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, and Star Image (GB), ridden by J.A. Powell where it appeared that Star Image (GB) was tight for room when delivering her challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, N.G. McCullagh stated that he received a brush from Star Image (GB) when that animal made her manoeuvre to challenge but his own mount was back pedaling at the time. J.A. Powell stated that he manoeuvred out when Effernock Fizz began to fall back in the race and this left him with a gap to challenge between Kazakdaria and Kerkiyra but the gap tightened from his outside with contact made. B.M. Coen stated that he maintained a straight racing line along the rails and did not make any contact with any other runner. C.D. Hayes stated that he went past Effernock Fizz and rode tighter to Kerkiyra but straightened his mount when he realised that Star Image (GB) was challenging on his off side. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

The Stewards interviewed Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, concerning the late withdrawal of his charges Mighty Blue (FR) and Onameridance in this race with the excuse given as "going". The Stewards also considered the fact that this race was an extended handicap where an alternative handicap could have applied. In his evidence, Joseph Patrick O'Brien stated that he noted the going reports as received through the IHRB system and followed the Met Eireann forecast. He was aware from the information gained that there was a possibility of five to six millimeters of rain expected with continued watering. He added that he had walked the track prior to racing, had spoken with his jockey and also the Clerk of the Course, and in his opinion the going was not as expected as the forecasted rainfall had not happened which would have given easier ground. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Joseph Patrick O'Brien was in breach of Rule 194(iv)(b) in that his two charges were withdrawn late when an alternative handicap could have applied. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards fined Joseph Patrick O'Brien €200.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Kazakdaria, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got unbalanced and lost a near hind shoe.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Stickyourneckout trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned left throughout this race.

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Mister Trader (GB), ridden by R. Whearty, Troy Top, ridden by G.M. Ryan, Fine Distraction, ridden by J. Kearney, and Florence Thompson, ridden by J.A. Heffernan where it appeared that Troy Top checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J.A. Hefferenan stated that his mount was not affected by any incident. G.M. Ryan stated that Fine Attraction was edging right when he took a precautionary check with his own mount. J. Kearney stated that he was trying to maintain a straight course when Mister Trader (GB) came over onto his own mount. R. Whearty stated that he tried to stop his mount edging right by using his whip in his right hand. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise R. Whearty to ride with more awareness. D.J. Bunyan accompanied R. Whearty at this enquiry.
