The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

W.J. Lee rode Dancing Rebel (reserve) , trained by K.J. Condon (Race 1)
D.P. McDonogh rode Linus Larrabee (reserve) , trained by Edward Lynam (Race 2)
C.J. MacRedmond rode Aussie Valentine (reserve) , trained by Adrian McGuinness (Race 8).

283B1 Mallow H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Davitt, trained by Charles O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed K.J. Leonard, rider of Coffeemeanscoffee, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence K.J. Leonard stated that his mount was responding to his urgings with the whip. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Leonard was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned K.J. Leonard on this occasion.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Inventor (GB), trained by Gillian Scott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

M.A. Enright, rider of Clara's Approach trained by Miss Jennifer Anne Lynch, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got upset in the starting stalls.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Ceapach Rua (FR) trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount went left in the final two hundred yards.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Cool As Ever trained by B.A.Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount acted up in the starting stalls.

The Stewards granted permission under Rule 194 (ii)(e) for Inventor (GB) trained by Gillian Scott to run without the declared tongue strap as it had become displaced in the parade ring and could not be refitted.

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Fine Distraction, trained by D.J. Bunyan, for failing to present his charge in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i). The Stewards had already allowed an additional ten minutes as there was an exceptional circumstance.

The Stewards requested a report from Tom McGuinness, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Coffeemeanscoffee, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Tom McGuinness reported that his charge did not see out the seven furlong trip the last day at Cork and furthermore in compliance with Rule 213 he reported the animal to be showing signs of being in season post race. He added that previously at Naas on the 22nd August he had reported that his charge was coughing post race in compliance with Rule 213. He expressed that his charge had been dropped in the handicap and had been beaten no more than eight lengths on her previous three runs. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Amazing One (GB) trained by T.J. O'Mara, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the last two and a half furlongs.

283B2 Mallow H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Company Keeping, trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from Peter John Flood, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Tullypole Annie, placed second, as compared with its recent form. Peter John Flood reported that his charge had previously raced on good ground at Bellewstown and Gowran Park but she appreciated the yielding ground today which in his opinion brought about the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

283C Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Roxette (GER), trained by M.Halford, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Betrayed (GB) trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

283D Fermoy M'dn

G.M. Ryan, rider of Xchanger trained by Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and ran green.

283E Navigation Stakes

W.J. Lee, rider of Up Helly Aa trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with slight interference in the closing stages that had no effect on his finishing position.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Rocket Science trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned left under pressure.

G.M. Ryan, rider of April Showers trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was short for room about four furlongs from the finish.

The Stewards enquired into an incident close to the finish involving Laughifuwant, ridden by G.F. Carroll, unplaced, Up Helly Aa, ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, Rocket Science, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fourth and April Showers, ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed second, where it appeared that Up Helly Aa was tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence G.F. Carroll stated that his run was at an end when there was slight movement from horses both sides of him and he took a slight check. W.J. Lee stated that his mount had no more to offer when racing room got tight. D.P. McDonogh stated that his mount went left and he switched his whip and corrected his mount. G.M. Ryan stated that in his opinion his mount did not contribute to any interference. The riders expressed that the race was run at a slow pace and the runners bunched in the closing stages. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. Mr. S. McDonogh, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

283F Thank You To All The Frontline H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined River Derwent (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

283G Follow Us On Twitter H'cap

The Stewards interviewed D.W. O'Connor, rider of Men Of Dreams, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence D.W. O'Connor stated that his mount was hanging badly and it was a long way up the straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.W. O'Connor was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.W. O'Connor for one raceday.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Men Of Dreams trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right all the way up the straight.
