The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Clairmc, ridden by J.B. Kane, and trained by Gavin Cromwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's representative concerned. J.B. Kane, stated that he was instructed to jump off in the middle of the runners, educate his mount, let her enjoy the day and to do his best. He added that the filly was not fluent at a few hurdles and he tried to restore her confidence which probably cost him some ground. On reviewing the video evidence, J.B. Kane stated that she was an exceptional jumper at home and he gave her light at her hurdles today. He described that on turning into the home straight that his mount was never going any faster and he hung onto her head, missed the middle flight, jumped the final flight well and galloped on to the line without applying the whip at any time. Gerard Fox, Authorised representative of Gavin Cromwell, confirmed the riding instructions and stated that the filly was not to be knocked about as she was a four year old having her first run. He added that the rider was to teach her and assess whether was she was good enough to run in an I.N.H Flat Race. In his opinion the filly stayed on one paced. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Clairmc was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations of both persons. Furthermore, they advised J.B. Kane of his obligation to comply with the provisions of Rule 212. .
