The Raceday Stewards granted a request from D.Broad, trainer of Burvea, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Diamond Nora, trained by Declan Queally, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the IHRB Handicapper Mr. A. Shaw who stated that this horse has had only two runs when finishing 20th of 25 runners beaten 51 lengths at Naas on the 25th of February and also when finishing 10th of 16 runners beaten 61 lengths at Gowran Park on the 9th of March. Furthermore, Mr. A. Shaw added that whilst she had won her sole point to point start, in her two hurdle runs she had shown nothing and this run today represented a marked improvement in her hurdle form. Evidence was also heard from the trainers Authorised Representative, Mark T. Spillane, who stated that the yard may have been under a cloud and this horse may have been sick also. He further added that the change in tactics today may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards referred the matter to the Referrals Committee for further investigation.
