The following trainers were fined €200 in each case for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provision of Rule 194 (v) (vi):- John G. Carr for Atlas Peak (sore withers) at Dundalk on 8th March; Eoin Doyle for Leanna Ban (GB) (stone bruise) at Gowran Park on 9th March and M.F. Morris for War Correspondent at Naas on 10th March.

047A www.louth.gaa.ie Maiden & M.C. Grassick, trainer of Dorian Bay, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge made a noise in running.
L.P. Dempsey, rider of Jacksonslady trained by J.P. Dempsey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran very keen in the early stages of this race.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Jacksonslady at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
Andrew Heffernan, trainer of Fellisha, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to be in season post race.
047C Boylesports.com – iPhone & iPad App Handicap & The Stewards enquired into an incident at the furlong pole involving Sassaway, ridden by B.A. Curtis, placed fifth, Ned’s Indian, ridden by I.J. Brennan, Sylvan Mist, ridden by W.M. Lordan, and Atlas Peak, ridden by F. Lynch, all unplaced, after it appeared that Atlas Peak ran short of room and had to check.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards advised B.A. Curtis and I.J. Brennan to ride with more care in the future.
047E www.louth.gaa.ie Maiden & The Stewards fined P.D. Deegan, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Bint Nayef in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
047F Boylesports.com Live Betting Handicap & N.P. Madden, rider of Shake The Bucket, trained by Niall Madden, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled in this race.
047G Louth GAA Race Night Handicap & The Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Hootie, ridden by J.F. Egan, Blue Ridge Lane, ridden by G.F. Carroll, and Aaronkayzo, ridden by R. Coakley, all unplaced, after it appeared that both Aaronkayzo and Blue Ridge Lane met with interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.F. Egan was in breach of R214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for one race day (30th March).
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Silenceofthewind (USA), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, and Jackie Tyrrell, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed fourth, after it appeared that Silenceofthewind (USA) ran short of room.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.
M. Halford, trainer of Ridayef, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 18th March that his charge was found to have a tendon injury on his near fore post race.
Down Royal Meeting, 16th March 2013
The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of rider at this meeting:-.
J.S. McGarvey replaced Mr P. Power on Turtle Express, trained by Vincent Laurence Halley (Race 3) Transport difficulties.
048A Daily Mirror Maiden Hurdle & R.P. Treacy, rider of Step One, trained by Patrick O. Brady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference, but stayed on well in the closing stages of this race.
048B Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired from J.S McGarvey, rider of Court Jester, as to the reason why he was unseated before the fifth last hurdle in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount stumbled and clipped heels before he was unseated.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.
The Stewards fined Mervyn Torrens, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Moymore Lad in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
The Stewards fined E. Sheehy, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Garlough in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
048C Sean Graham Bookmakers Beginners Steeplechase & C.D. Maxwell, rider of Presenting Kate, trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount choked in running.
048F Bet With The Tote Beginners Steeplechase & D.E. Mullins, rider of Shinrock Paddy, trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was found to have a burst blood vessel post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.
Limerick Meeting, 16th March 2013
The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of rider at this meeting:-
J.L. Cullen replaced J.R. Barry on Ballyreesode, trained by G.M. O’Neill (Race 1) Stewards Permission.
049A Student Raceday 11th April Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards fined J.R. Barry €200, in accordance with Rule 196(v) for failing to present himself to weigh out on Ballyreesode in this race.
The stewards asked that the fine be remitted should the rider subsequently make a valid excuse that was not made known to them.
E.F. Power, rider of Shazner trained by Moses McCabe, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled in this race.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Shazner was found to have a respiratory tract infection following an endoscopic examination post race. The trainer subsequently reported to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer that his charge was found to have mucus in his respiratory tract following an endoscopic examination post race.
P.T. Enright, rider of Subtitle, trained by S. Slevin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost his action coming down the hill and also lost a shoe in running.
49E www.thetote.com Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed Miss. M.M. McEligott, rider of Toomdeely concerning her use of the whip in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10 3(b), in that she continued to use her whip when her chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone.
Having taken her record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended her for two race days (1st and 2nd April).
049F Munster (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Harvey Logan, ridden by Ms. N. Carberry, placed second, Keeffes Well (GB), ridden by E.D. Linehan, placed fifth, Wisty, ridden by Mr J.C. Barry, and Onwiththeparty (GB), ridden by Miss J.M Mangan, who appeared to clip a heal and was unseated.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and therefore took no further action.
The Stewards fined Michael G. Cleary, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Waxies Dargle (GB) in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
Limerick Meeting, 17th March 2013
The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of his non-runner:-
John G. Carr for Benash (off Feed) - €200.
050A St. Patrick’s Day Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Byron Blue, ridden by R.J. Jones, and trained by E. McNamara.
Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence R.J. Jones stated that his instructions were to hold up this horse as he can be very keen. He said that he stayed in touch, but his horse did not jump well down the back where he rapped two hurdles and the leaders got away from him. He concluded by saying that in the straight his horse became tired in the testing ground and he rode him out after the animal made another mistake at the last.
In his evidence E. McNamara confirmed the instructions and stated that he told his rider to jump off last and settle the horse as he is a very keen horse at home. He said the horse appeared to make mistakes down the back and at the last. He expressed himself satisfied with the ride. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer stating that the horse had grazed a left knee in running and was found to be slightly lame post race.
Having viewed a recording of the race, considered the evidence and in light of the veterinary evidence, the Stewards therefore took no further action.
S.E. Butler, rider of Fast On, trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became very tired on today’s ground.
050C Newton Abbot Racecourse Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Eoghan O’Grady, trainer of the winner Unoccupied (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s recent run at Naas where he finished eighth of 12 runners.
Mr O’Grady reported that a lack of early pace and less testing ground at Naas meant that the other horses outpaced his charge at the finish. He said that his horse was better suited by today’s deep ground and test of stamina which accounted for the apparent improvement in form.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.
050D I.T.B.A. Fillies Scheme European Breeders Fund Dawn Run Mares Novice Steeplechase & P.F. Mangan, rider of Noras Fancy, trained by James Joseph Mangan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount missed the fourth last fence and did not travel thereafter.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Noras Fancy at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
050E Charleville Cheese Beginners Steeplechase & R.J. Jones, rider of William Wordsworth, trained by Sabrina J. Harty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a noise in running.
Wexford Meeting, 17th March 2013
051B Curracloe Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed W. Power, trainer, concerning the poor performance of his charge Anserdefone in this race under the provisions of Rule 212 (b).
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned.
Following the running of this race Anserdefone was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards and was found to be post race normal.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered, and advised the trainer that a recurrence of today’s performance may liable his charge for suspension.
051C Michael O’Murchadha Memorial Novice Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired from P.J. Rothwell, trainer of the winner Cheap As Chips, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horses previous runs.
Mr Rothwell reported that, in his opinion, today’s race was a moderate contest in which his charge benefited from front running tactics on a tight, right handed track. He further added that his charge was better suited to today’s ground conditions.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
A.E. Lynch, rider of Marshim, trained by W. Power, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake down the back straight in this race.
051D St. Patrick’s Day Rated Hurdle & J.R. Barry, rider of Just For Joe, trained by Mrs Hannah Lee, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he had to pull up his mount after he observed that a bandage had come undone. He also reported that his mount travelled well to that point.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Supreme Carolina, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
051F Pinnacle Novice Handicap Steeplechase & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Reality Dose, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
051G Prince Flori New To Knockhouse Stud Mares (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Limerickurmylady, trained by C. Roche at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
