The Appeals Body, Mr J.R. Craigie (in the Chair), Mr. C.E. O’Sulllivan and Mrs. T.K. Cooper met in the Stewards Room, Curragh Racecourse, Curragh, Co. Kildare, on 10th September 2008, to consider an appeal lodged by Mr F. Costello, Trainer Fastnowfast, against the decision of the Acting Stewards at Tipperary on 28th August 2008, when following the running of the www.tipperaryraces.ie handicap, Fastnowfast was disqualified and placed second following a Stewards Enquiry as the Stewards were of the opinion that Fastnowfast had caused interference to Lime Tree Valley and as a consequence improved his ultimate placing in relation to Lime Tree Valley who was promoted to first.
Evidence was heard from W.M. Lordan, Rider of Fastnowfast and C.P. Geoghegan, Rider of Lime Tree Valley. Videos of the race were also viewed.
Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body dismissed the Appeal and ordered that the result as amended by the Acting Stewards at Tipperary to stand.
