The Referrals Committee Justice Tony Hunt (in the Chair), Sean Barry and Robert Dore met at the Croke Park Hotel, Jones Road, Dublin 3 on Monday, 13th February 2017 to consider written submissions on costs following their decision on 27th January 2017 to disqualify Champoleon (FR) following his win in the Punchestown Events Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown on 16th May 2015 as a result of having tested positive for Caffeine.
In addition to considering the written submissions, the Committee also considered oral submissions from Louis Weston, Barrister on behalf of the Turf Club and Seamus Clarke BL on behalf of Noel Meade.
Following an adjournment, the Committee were informed that costs had been agreed between both parties and as such no further order was made.
The case was presented by Louis Weston, Barrister. Noel Meade was represented by Seamus Clarke BL, instructed by Patrick Ward, Frank Ward & Co. Solicitors, Dublin.
