R. Deegan, rider of Turn And Finish, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount slipped up independently of any other runner. The Raceday Stewards reviewded the footage and were satisfied no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Cruden (GB), ridden by D. Meyler, placed first, and Star Runner (GB), ridden by O.R. Brown, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. O.R. Brown stated that he felt pressure from the winner on the run from the last hurdle to the line. D. Meyler stated that he felt both horses came to meet each other and continued to lean on each other on the run to the line but felt he always had the upper hand. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Cruden had caused interference to Star Runner, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference, so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and therefore took no further action.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed O.R. Brown, rider of Star Runner (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence O.R. Brown accepted he was in breach of the Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found O.R. Brown was in breach of R.10.3 (g)(frequency) and in considering his clean record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays.
The Raceday Stewards received a report from Ms A. O'Keeffe, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that O.R. Brown, rider of Star Runner (GB), weighed in at 1.2lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that a combination of rain and kickback may have contributed to his overweight. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that O.R. Brown was in breach of Rule 231 and having taken his record into account (second offence) they suspended him for two Racedays.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Mick Collins trained by Noel Meade was seen to have blood at both nostrils post race.

Quirke, placed second, and Thisistheway, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred after the final hurdle. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.M. Quirke stated that the winner bumped him slightly after the final hurdle but it had not cost him any ground or momentum. J.P. O'Sullivan stated that his mount moved slightly right on landing over the final hurdle but he corrected her immediately. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Thisistheway had caused interference to Keep Kool Coko, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference, so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and therefore took no further action.
