The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Turkestan (GB), ridden by C.A. Landers, and trained by Mark Michael McNiff. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. C.A. Landers, stated that he was instructed to sit last and get his mount to settle but he got a bit detached as the horse in front of him could not go the early pace. He added that his mount made several mistakes early on. Mark Michael McNiff, stated that his charge can be very keen and after its previous run the rider had recommended sitting last next time out as he never settled. Furthermore he expressed his satisfaction with the ride. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Turkestan was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given. Mr. Derek Pugh, Acting Steward absented himself from this enquiry.

The Stewards advised Denise McCourt, Authorised representative for T.G.McCourt, Trainer of Dollar Value, that a repeat performance from their charge, who refused to line up, may render the animal liable to suspension in the future.

185F Collooney H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Stamp Your Feet, trained by E. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Stewards requested a report from E. McNamara, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Silver Planeur (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Michael Greaney, Authorised representative for E. McNamara stated that as the going changed following heavy rain he had instructed the rider to go wide on the best of the remaining ground and that, along with the light weight further reduced by the riders claim had in his opinion helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanations given.
