The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Ms. Sheila Lavery, trainer of Krypton Gold (Going) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J. M. Sheridan rode Jjs Ascot (reserve), trained by Ross O'Sullivan (Race 4)
M. P. Sheehy replaced L.T. McAteer on Na Caith Tobac (HOL), trained by Paul W. Flynn (Race 6)(Unwell)
P. A. Harnett replaced L.T. McAteer on The Role Model, trained by Kevin Michael Smith (Race 7)(Unwell).
K. J. Manning replaced Siobhan Rutledge on Benkei, trained by H. Rogers (Race 6)(stood down).

249A Irish EBF Median Sires Series Race

Following a request from broadcasters, the Stewards granted permission for the following delays: Race 1 + 2 minute.

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the home straight involving Snapius, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, placed fourth, All In The Mind, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed fifth and Tostal, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed sixth, where it appeared Tostal got tight for room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

249B Irish EBF Supp Champions Weekend (F) Mdn

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Reroram trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount received interference from his outside leaving the back straight.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Celebratious trained by Michael G. Cleary was found to have blood at the nostrils post race, possibly as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

The Stewards requested a report from D. K. Weld, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Harannda, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Patrick O'Brien, Authorised representative for the trainer concerned stated that their charge did not handle Navan last time out and a step up in trip today, coupled with the application of the first time tongue tie had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

Jack Cleary, rider of Celebratious trained by Michael G. Cleary, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having burst a blood vessel.

249D Class Grass H'cap

The Stewards interviewed Nikita Amelia Kane, rider of Geological, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that she was trying to avoid hitting the rider on her inside. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Nikita Amelia Kane was in breach of Regulation 10.3.h, the use of the whip with the arm above shoulder height. Having considered Nikita Amelia Kanes's record in this regard, the Stewards, pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 10.6.a, suspended Nikita Amelia Kane for six racedays.

At the request of the Stewards, W.M. Lordan, rider of Flying Scotsman, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and was flat out all the way.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Flying Scotsman, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

249E roscommonracecourse.ie Apprentice M'dn

D. McMonagle, rider of Rollet trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran green and did not handle the track.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing straight involving Parisienne Ways, ridden by C.J. MacRedmond, unplaced, Harry's Legacy (GB), ridden by Sarah E. McCarthy, unplaced and Monty's Way, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, placed first, where it appeared that Harry's Legacy got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. J. MacRedmond stated that his mount tried to lug in behind the leader. Sarah E. McCarthy stated that she received interference from her outside. M. P. Sheehy stated that his mount hung in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that M. P. Sheehy was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered M. P. Sheehy's record in this regard the Stewards suspended M. P. Sheehy for four racedays.

The Stewards interviewed Sam Ewing, rider of Duffle Coat, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Sam Ewing was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency and having considered Sam Ewing's record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for two racedays. Sam Ewing was accompanied at this enquiry by Mr. K. O'Ryan.

249F Oran H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wajaaha, trained by Cathal Byrnes, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Stewards interviewed D. McMonagle, rider of Bamboo Bay, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that D. McMonagle was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered D. McMonagle's record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for one raceday.

S.P. Davis, rider of Wajaaha trained by Cathal Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount missed the break and never travelled.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Wajaaha, ridden by S.P. Davis, and trained by Cathal Byrnes. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. S.P. Davis, stated that his instructions were to jump out handy and to do his best from there, but his mount was slowly away and never travelled. He added that his mount has recently not been as sharp out of the stalls and he asked one of the stalls handlers to put a hand to his mount when in the stalls but his mount turned his head towards the handler as the gates opened. Cathal Byrnes, confirmed the instructions given. Evidence was also heard from The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board starter Mr. Pat Malone who stated that this horse was not brought to his attention prior to starting the race, and also Mr. Keith Maher, Horse racing Ireland stalls handler who stated that he was standing along side the horse and it turned its head towards him and he palmed it away. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Security Officer, Mr. Declan Buckley attended this enquiry. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Wajaaha was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to a senior racing official for further investigation.
