The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr H.C. Swan replaced Mr J.H. Williamson on No Turn Unstoned (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 5)(Intended mount was a non runner)

096A Howden Insurance Brokers (M) Novice Hdle

P.T. Enright, rider of Dame Rapide, trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount caught a heel turning into the straight.

096B The KPMG Champion Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Diverge (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have an overreach post race.

096C Killashee Hotel H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Brazil, trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

096D William Hill Champion S'chase

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.E. Mullins, rider of Chacun Pour Soi (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, concerning his use of the whip very close to the finish line where it appeared that he may have hit either Energumene (Fr) or his rider P. Townend. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, P. Townend stated that he did not feel anything at that point of the race. D.E. Mullins stated that he was about to hit his mount once more when he realised that he had reached the finish line and was half way through a striking motion when he stopped and did not complete the hit. He admitted on reviewing the video that his whip may have made contact with either P. Townend or his mount Energumene (Fr). Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214 by riding improperly whereby his whip appeared to hit either the challenging horse or rider. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended D.E. Mullins for three racedays.

096F Dooley Insurance Champion Novice S'chase

P. Townend, rider of Appreciate It, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left up the straight.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sir Gerhard, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a cut on his right hind upper cannon.

096H Oak Lodge Landscapes Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on the approach to the bend past the stands involving Jerk (FR), ridden by Mr J.C. Barry, Master Otis, ridden by Mr C. Mullins, and Will Wilde (FR), ridden by Mr F. Maguire, where it appeared that the horses were tight for room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr R.W. Barron, rider of Williethebuilder, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr R.W. Barron admitted that he had exceeded the whip guidelines for frequency through misjudgement. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr R.W. Barron was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards cautioned Mr R.W. Barron on this occasion.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr C. Mullins, rider of Master Otis, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr C. Mullins stated that he was trying to avoid hitting the horse and rider beside him. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr C. Mullins was in breach of R10(3)(h) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards cautioned Mr C. Mullins on this occasion.
