The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer of Just An Hour (Late withdrawal) - €200

064A Return Of The Flat At Navan H'cap

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Ecclesiastical (GB), trained by T.G. McCourt, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount became upset in the stalls.

Joseph Anthony Murray, trainer of Hot Sunset (GB), reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board that his charge was subsequently found to be in season post race.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Atlantic Charter, ridden by K.S. McHugh, Gooloogong, ridden by R.L. Moore, Rough And Tough, ridden by S.P. Bird and Young Ireland, ridden by L.T. McAteer, where it appeared that Young Ireland ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of Mr. K. Borthwick, who accompanied K.S. McHugh. L. McAteer stated that he suffered interference from his inside. K.S. McHugh stated that he tracked the leader across and that his mount was green which caused interference. S.P. Bird stated that he felt pressure from his inner. R.L Moore stated that he was drawn one, got a good start and edged across towards the middle of the course, but was satisfied that he was clear and did not cause any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that K.S. McHugh was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

064E Bective Restaurant H'cap

W.J. Lee, rider of Timely Boost, trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount moved poorly and was pulled up thereafter.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Samhradh, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

064F Summer BBQ Packages Apprentice H'cap

O. Enright, rider of Pale Moonlight, trained by D.K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Persian Queen, trained by Ms. Joanna Morgan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right leaving the stalls.

Sorcha Woods, rider of Songline, trained by Sarah Lynam, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount became tight for room at the end of the back straight.

J.A. Powell, rider of Everylittlestep, trained by Yvonne Latta, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was short of room in the closing stages. The Raceday Stewards subsequently reviewed this incident and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

064G Vintage Crop Raceday April 22 (C&G) M'dn

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Drumroll, trained by A.P. O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right under pressure.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Feel The Force, ridden by R.P. Whelan and Baile Locha Riach (FR), ridden by S.B. Kelly where it appeared Baile Locha Riach was short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Whelan stated that he was keeping a straight line at the time of the incident. S.B. Kelly stated that his mount ran keenly and moved right despite his best efforts which caused interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Drumroll, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he had used his whip more than is permitted, but stated that he had used his whip on one occasion for corrective purposes, which he identified on the video footage and explained in detail. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted that one strike was for corrective purposes and therefore took no further action.
