R.P. Whelan, rider of Freedom Falls, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received pressure from his outside in the closing stages.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Lady Fox, ridden by H.J. Horgan, placed first and Freedom Falls, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. H. J. Horgan stated that he was a head down and his mount drifted slightly following Freedom Falls. R. P. Whelan stated that he was intimidated and went across the track with the other horse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Lady Fox had caused interference to Freedom Falls and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the first and second placed horses and amended the result to read as follows:
Amended Result:
First: Freedom Falls
Second: Lady Fox
Third: Rebecca's Girl
Fourth: Paradise Perfect
Fifth: Brookie Cookie
Sixth: Smooth Sky
Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that H. J. Horgan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for one raceday

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Bright Legend, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed fourth, and Immutable, ridden by G.F. Carrol, placed second, where it appeared Bright Legend had to check off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. M. Sheridan stated that his mount hung into the back of Immutable. G. F. Carroll stated that he kept straight and only became unbalanced when he received a bump from Bright Legend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental and they took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the IHRB Veterinary Officer, Ms. Emma Costello that the vaccination record for Sea The Dawn, trained by Peter Lawlor, did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. Evidence was also heard from Peter Lawlor, Trainer, who stated that the vaccination record for Sea The Dawn was correct in the horses passport but he added that the passport did not accompany the horse today. The Raceday Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Sea The Dawn in accordance with the provisions of Rule 91(iv) and they reminded Peter Lawlor of his responsibilities under the provisions of Rule 85.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed N.M. Crosse, rider of Prince Of Abington, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that N. M. Crosse was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency(10). Having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended N. M. Crosse for three racedays.
