129D2 It's Good To Be Back At Limerick H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from John James Feane, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Hisnameis Mrdevitt, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his previous run when drawn in one and was ridden forward after the break, he said his charge ran keen before running off the first bend and continued keen before tiring. He added that his charge was dropped out today and settled much better with the aid of a cross noseband and felt this, along with the application of a tongue tie had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

D.E. Sheehy, rider of Rolling Wave, trained by Augustine Leahy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he checked his mount early in the straight as a precautional measure, but was tiring at this point.

129E Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

R.P. Whelan, rider of Leylak trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.

129G Fedamore H'cap

E.J. McNamara rider of Marmolata trained by Emmet Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not get a clear run.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Tirmizi (FR), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed fifth, New Vocation, ridden by N.M. Crosse, unplaced and Marmolata, ridden by E.J. McNamara, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that R.P. Whelan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record they suspended him for 3 racedays.

At the request of the Stewards, R.C. Colgan, rider of Punters Poet, trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle the downhill run into the straight and in his opinion his mount would be suited by a stiffer track with an uphill finish.

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting: Mr. Peter Allen (Chairman), Mr. Michael Moloney, Mr. M.F. O'Donoghue.
