J.G. Gilligan, rider of Annamaymurt, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost its action before the second last.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on approach to the first hurdle and after jumping the first hurdle involving Annamaymurt, ridden by J.G. Gilligan, unplaced, Roc My Haarth, ridden by L. Quinlan, dead heated for third, Winter Carnival, ridden by A.M. King, dead heated for third, and Me And Mrs Lee, ridden by G.B. Noonan, unplaced, where it appeared numerous horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. A.M. King stated that Roc My Haarth took his racing line and he was interfered with from his outside. J.G. Gilligan stated that he felt a little bump from his left. G.B. Noonan stated that that he got a small bump from his inside. L. Quinlan stated that Winter Carnival shoved his mount out mid air and when they landed after jumping the first he was returning to his racing line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found L. Quinlan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for three racedays.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed A.M. King, rider of Winter Carnival, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and the IHRB Veterinary Officer Ms. N. O'Connor. In his evidence, A.M. King accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulations and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that A.M. King was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency), 10.3(i)(time to respond), 10.3(f)(excessive force) and 10.3(e)(the hitting of the horse other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters). Having considered his clean records in these regards, they suspended him for 12 racedays.
021C Limerick Racecourse (Mares) M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Ms. L. O'Neil, Authorised Representative for Gordon Elliott concerning the running of his charge Miss Incognito on ground described as heavy, soft to heavy in places having been withdrawn yesterday on heavy ground at Punchestown. Ms. L. O'Neil stated that the trainer was happy to run his charge as long as there was soft in the description today. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.
021D Limerick On Instagram (C&G) M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident between the second last and the last hurdle involving Beckistine, ridden by L.A. McKenna, fell, and Bowensonfire (FR), ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first, where it appeared the two horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L.A. McKenna stated that there was minor contact on the approach to the last as he was passing Bowensonfire and that he fell independently of Mr Ewing at the last. Sam Ewing stated that he kept a straight line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
021E Limerick Races On 13th March H'cap H'dleP. Hanlon, rider of Boston Bongo, trained by Barry J. Fitzgerald, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left in the final four furlongs.
021F Limerick Novice H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Mark Fahey, trainer of Ages Of Man, concerning the conduct of his charge who was reluctant going down to the start and participated in the race until he pulled himself up with a circuit to go. Mark Fahey stated that the animal had only recently came into his care and is a difficult individual. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards suspended Ages Of Man from running for 30 days in accordance with Rule 14(iii).
