The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

J. S. Bolger, trainer of Keep Sharp (off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.D. Hayes replaced D.W. O'Connor on Falcon Eight, trained by D. K. Weld (Race 4)(intended mount a non runner)

225B Manguard Plus H'cap

The Stewards interviewed Neve Bennett, rider of Sondheim, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted she was in breach of the whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Neve Bennett was in breach of R10.3(g) and having considered her record, they suspended her for 1 raceday.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Bonnyrigg, ridden by W.J. Lee, Notforalongtime (GB), ridden by M.A. Enright, Eriskay, ridden by C.D. Hayes, Fastman, ridden by D. McMonagle, Uisce, ridden by S. Foley, and Rose Of Malta, ridden by S.M. Crosse where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that he got carried slightly left when he got passed by the winner. M.A. Enright stated that he was going for a gap when it closed in front of him. C.D. Hayes stated that he got carried slightly right but it made no difference to his run. D. McMonagle stated that he got contact at the 1 furlong pole but his horse ran straight thereafter. S. Foley stated that his mount was difficult and ran around but also had to check late on. S.M. Crosse felt that he had room to go for the gap on his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found S.M. Crosse was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for 3 racedays. Furthermore they advised S. Foley to ride with more awareness in future.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Devious Dreamer trained by Garry Caldwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise 2 furlongs from the finish.

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Skontonovski (GB) trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room in the straight.

M.A. Enright, rider of Notforalongtime (GB) trained by Laura Hourigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had no luck in running.

C.T. Keane, rider of Bantry (GB) trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

S. Foley, rider of Uisce trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green in the straight.

S.M. Crosse, rider of Rose Of Malta trained by P.F.O'Donnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no clear run in the straight.

225D Grant Thornton Ballyroan Stakes

The Stewards interviewed D. McMonagle, rider of Gear Up, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that D. McMonagle was in breach of R10.3(g) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion.

W.J. Lee, rider of Beamish (FR) trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

225E Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Heracleides trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked right off the second turn.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Middlemarch, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

N.M. Crosse, rider of It Aint trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

225F1 Leopardstown Golf Centre H'cap

N.M. Crosse, rider of Welcoming (FR) trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T. Hynes , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that C.T. Keane , rider of Reverberation (GB) , weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had a drink of water and this in his opinion is what he attributed the weight gain to. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C.T. Keane was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards requested a report from Matthew J. Smith, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Mads Black Eights, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Matthew J. Smith reported that his charge relented the tongue strap on its previous run and was advised to leave it off for todays run and this in his opinion is what he attributed the apparent improvement in form to. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

225F2 Leopardstown Golf Centre H'cap

K.J. Leonard, rider of Out On Friday trained by Philip M. Byrne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung on the bend into the straight.

S. Foley, rider of Tara Power trained by Keith Henry Clarke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never let itself down on the ground.

J.A. Powell, rider of Stop On Red trained by J.G.Coogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very slowly away from the gates.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Smaoineamh Sile (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

225G Awards & Gifts H'cap

S. Foley, rider of Derrinlaur trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never picked up in the straight.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Derrinlaur, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

225H Hurling For Cancer August 16th H'cap

S. Foley, rider of Tauran Shaman trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned left in the straight.

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Dancila, placed first, as compared with its recent form. J.S. Bolger reported that his charge may not have handled the undulations on its previous run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
