The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Winiata, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, Laura Bullion, ridden by A.J. Slattery, in the presence of Ms. Sheila Lavery and Commodus, ridden by A.C. Persse, where it appeared Winiata received a checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise A.J. Slattery and A.C. Persse to ride with more care in the future.
305E Win Big With Tote H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dream Of Words, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame behind post race.
The Stewards requested a report from John James Feane, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Curly Girl, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mr. Feane reported that his charge failed to handle the surface at Newcastle AWT on her last run. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered. .
The Stewards enquired into an incident before the marker poles involving Johann Bach, ridden by R. Coakley, Stormy Belle, ridden by B.M. Coen, in the presence of Mr. Tony Redmond and Mokhalad (GB), ridden by R.P. Cleary, where it appeared Johann Bach and Mokhalad (GB) both received a check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that B.M. Coen had moved across before the marker pole and caused interference, therefore found him in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended B.M. Coen for 3 days.
305G Tote October H'capT.P. Madden, rider of Ancient Sands trained by John E. Kiely, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount received a check inside the final 100 yards.
