158D Dundrum H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Diderot (GB), trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Hype, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, D.P. McDonogh stated that he gave his mount a light flick with the whip when he felt that he ran off the final bend but admitted that he had marginally exceeded the guidelines for numbers. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.P. McDonogh was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.P. McDonogh for two racedays.

C.T. Keane, rider of Diderot (GB) trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.

The Stewards reviewed an incident about one furlong from the finish involving Diderot (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, unplaced and Windsor Pass, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, where it appeared that Diderot (GB) was short of room on the rails when passed by Windsor Pass. Having reviewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted.

158E Sandycove H'cap

The Stewards interviewed Melanie Horsman, rider of Rock Chica, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. In evidence, Melanie Horsman accepted that she had used her whip with her arm above shoulder height and acknowledged that she would work with her Jockey coach on correcting this habit. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Melanie Horsman was in breach of R10(3)(h) by using her whip with her arm above shoulder height. Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Melanie Horsman for one raceday

P.A. Harnett, rider of Igraine trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran around when she hit the front.

C.T. Keane, rider of Lunar Power trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room when close to the finish.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Igraine, ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed first and Lunar Power, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed second, where it appeared that Igraine left Lunar Power tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In evidence C.T. Keane stated that his mount was wearing blinkers for the first time and he got tightened for room close to the finish and checked for a stride. P.A. Harnett stated that his mount was running in her first handicap and she was wearing cheek pieces for the first time. He added that his mount looked around and ran green when hitting the front close to the finish. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

158F Dun Laoghaire (QR) M'dn

The Stewards fined Andrew McNamara, trainer, €65 for failing to cheek pieces to Tipping Point, prior to entering the parade ring. The horse was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards as a pair of cheek pieces could not be located.

158G Leopardstown H'cap

Annalise Cullen, rider of Munfallet trained by D P Coakley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount stood in the stalls and missed the break.

N.G. McCullagh, rider of Lady Savanah trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he had to take a check about half way but overall it made no difference.

The Stewards requested a report from W. McCreery, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Coill Na Sionainne, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Leopardstown on the 14th May when finishing eleventh of nineteen runners. W. McCreery reported that his charge probably ran back too soon at Leopardstown where she boiled over before the race and ran free whereas today the animal was ridden tactically the same but settled very well. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

158H Leopardstown.com Median Auction M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Boulette, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, Harry's Legacy (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fifth and Clew Bay, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, where it appeared that interference had taken place. In evidence S. Foley stated that his mount picked up about two furlongs out but the run petered out and the gap closed from both sides. C.D. Hayes stated that his mount came to the end of his run and got unbalanced which led to getting tangled with Clew Bay. K.J. Manning stated that his mount was lugging out and he felt he was free of both C.D. Hayes and S. Foley at the time of the incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise C.D. Hayes to ride with more care.
