R. Deegan, rider of Elite Des Mottes (FR) trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount idealed in front and jumped right late on.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference from the last hurdle to the wining post, involving General Clermont (FR), ridden by J.C. Gainford, placed second and Elite Des Mottes (FR), ridden by R. Deegan, placed first, where it appeared that Elite Des Mottes drifted towards the rail causing interference to General Clermont. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.C. Gainford, stated that his mount was carried towards the rail after the last hurdle and had to check off heels. He further stated that although he suffered interference, it was close to the line and strongly felt that this interference had not cost him the race. R. Deegan, stated his mount had jumped the second last out to his right and idled before drifting towards the inside rail, but was satisfied that he won the race comfortably. He further accepted that he had allowed his mount to drift left uncorrected for ten strides under a strong right hand drive and apologised for this. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while Elite Des Mottes had caused interference to General Clermont, it did not warrant an alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, satisfied that R. Deegan was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his clean record they suspended him for 5 racedays.

E. Walsh, rider of More Than A Prince (GB) trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel, which was also confirmed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Magnium, trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be be coughing post race, samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Magnium, ridden by Miss M. O'Sullivan, and trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Miss M. O'Sullivan, stated that her instructions were to sit mid division, settle her mount and to do her best thereafter. She said her mount jumped well throughout and settled well, despite having a history of being difficult. She further added that her mount hung left from the forth last which she had reported at scales as required under the prevision of Rule 213. Eugene M. O'Sullivan, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He said the horse was in his care two months and had been with several different trainers prior to him, he further added that his charge can be a difficult ride. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Magnium was coughing post race. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action other than to advice Miss O'Sullivan to be seen to make more of an effort in the closing stages in the future. Mr Liam Walsh acting Steward absented himself from this enquiry and Mr Paul Moloney acted in his absence.
