The Stewards interviewed D. Browne McMonagle, rider of Pikaia, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanations offered by D. Browne McMonagle concerning his use of the whip and were satisfied that he was not in breach of Regulation 10.

The Stewards requested a report from James M. Barrett, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Next In Line, placed first, as compared with its recent form. J.M. Barrett reported that his charge did not handle the track on her last run. The trainer added that today his charge was assisted by an ease in the ground along with the first time application of blinkers which may have brought about an improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

S. Foley, rider of Katie Bo Kat (GB) trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost action in the home straight.

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Shizaam trained by John P.O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very green.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Miss Polly Shelby, ridden by M.A. Enright, and trained by Ronan M.P. McNally. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. M.A. Enright stated that he was instructed to jump out and travel amongst the field and run as well as possible. M.A. Enright added that he had been advised prior to this race that his mount may be a little green. M.A. Enright stated that Miss Polly Shelby was slowly away from the stalls, ran green and was isolated from the field despite his efforts to get her closer. Ronan M.P. McNally confirmed the instructions given to M.A. Enright and was in agreement with the account of his charge's run, adding that his charge was carrying a bit of condition for today's run but in his opinion was fit to start racing and will have benefitted from today's run. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Miss Polly Shelby was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered regarding the running and riding of Miss Polly Shelby. The Stewards were, however, of the opinion that M.A. Enright was in breach of Rule 213 in that he failed to report anything which might have affected the running of his mount. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned M.A. Enright.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Katie Bo Kat (GB), at the request of trainer, Mrs John Harrington, and reported the animal post race normal.
