The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dahomey, trained by T.G.McCourt, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Shanghai Dragon, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed fourth, Bayou Belle, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, placed third and The Insider, ridden by K.J. Leonard, unplaced, where it appeared The Insider ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. N. G. McCullagh stated that he suffered no interference and kept his line. K. J. Leonard stated that he suffered minor interference but did not have the horse to go where he wanted and it did not cost him anything. M. A. Gallagher stated that his mount drifted left when he went for his run. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while interference did occur they were prepared to give M. A. Gallagher the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and they took no further action other than to advise M. A. Gallagher to ride with more awareness in the future.
311B Irish EBF Supporting TREO EILE M'dnThe Stewards requested a report from A.P.O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Sussex (USA), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Chris Armstrong, Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned stated that a change of tactics today, to making the running had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
311D Get A Run For Your Money BetVictor H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Faithful Prince, trained by Peter Fahey, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Last Knight, at the request of trainer, Paul Stafford, and reported the animal to be post race normal.
311E Lengthen Your Odds With BetVictor H'capThe Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Codger's Alley, ridden by G.P. Halpin, unplaced and Clatter Bang, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed fifth, where it appeared there was contact between the two. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G. P. Halpin stated that his mount rolled left. C. P. Hoban stated that he suffered minor interference but it did not cost him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while interference did occur they could not apportion blame to either individual and they therefore took no further action.
W. Joyce, rider of Take My Hand trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount acted up in the stalls and fly leaped when they opened.
S.J. Cummins, rider of The Alpha Man trained by Seamus G. O'Donnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle todays going.
R.P. Cleary, rider of Corballis Flyer trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle todays going and was eased down.
G.P. Halpin, rider of Codger's Alley trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount rolled left turning in.
311F Gowran Park Racing Club (Fillies) M'dnThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Flora, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
G.M. Ryan, rider of Easily trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away.
The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving Miranda Priestly, ridden by L.T. McAteer, unplaced and Wickywickywheels, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed fifth, where it appeared Miranda Priestly ran short of room and had to check off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L. T. McAteer stated that there was contact between the two and he let a shout. R. P. Whelan stated that he called for the gap and went for it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that R. P. Whelan was in breach of rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered R. P. Whelan's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion. Furthermore, The Stewards reminded L. T. McAteer of his responsibilities to give true and accurate evidence when in enquiries.
