A. McCurtin, rider of No Memory trained by William Coleman O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left.
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr H.T. Hynes, regarding the failure of C.L. Walsh, rider of Broken Ice, placed sixth, to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Broken Ice from sixth place in accordance with the provisions of Rule230(ii). Furthermore, the Stewards were satisfied that C.L. Walsh was in breach of Rule 227(i) and having considered his record they suspended him for 2 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.
177C Guinness Beginners S'chaseThe Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the final bend involving Global Jackpot (GB), ridden by D.F. O'Regan, placed fifth, Star Max (GER), ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed second and Stormey, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental in nature and therefore took no further action.
177D Guinness Galway Blazers H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Gunfire Reef, trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Stewards interviewed Rachael Blackmore, rider of Mr Diablo, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that as some of the riders strikes were for corrective purposes and as the remaining number of strikes did not breach Regulation 10 they took no further action.
The Stewards interviewed S.A. Mulcahy, rider of Macgiloney, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and Regulation 10 3.(f) (force). Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended S.A. Mulcahy for 5 racedays.
D.E. Mullins, rider of Gunfire Reef trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped left throughout.
177F Guinness H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Jam Man, trained by Ronan M.P. McNally, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal Samples were taken for analysis.
T. Ryan, rider of Chavi Artist trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was struck into down the back straight.
P.T. Enright, rider of Blast Of Koeman trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a mistake at the first hurdle.
177G Guinness Galway Tribes H'cap H'dleThe Stewards interviewed S.D. Torrens, rider of Nibblers Charm, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(c)(Unnecessary hitting of a horse that clearly had its race won). Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended S.D. Torrens for 2 racedays.
177H Rockshore Light (Pro-Am) INH Flat RaceThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jawbox, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
