The Stewards interviewed Philip Fenton, trainer of Atlantic Shore, concerning the conduct of his charge who refused to line up for the start of this race. The Stewards advised Philip Fenton that as this was the second time his charge was unruly at the start of a race, a repeat of such behaviour could render his charge liable to a future sanction. Mr.C.P. Magnier, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.
The Stewards interviewed Mr. J.R. Banahan, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, in relation to the false start in this race. Evidence was heard from Mr. J.R. Banahan, who stated that Atlantic Shore, ridden by P.E. Corbett and trained by Mr. P. Fenton, was unruly at the start and refused to line up. Mr. J.R. Banahan withdrew Atlantic Shore. However as he did so Atlantic Shore ran on and joined the back of the field and Mr. Banahan, unaware that the announcement had been made that the horse had been withdrawn, was immediately informed of this fact and called a false start. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards reminded Mr. J.R. Banahan of his future responsibilities.
