138A Return Of The Flat Claiming Race

B.M. Coen, rider of Silkies Sib, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J.A. Heffernan, rider of Burvea, trained by D.Broad, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount took a precautionary check approximately one furlong out because he was being taken off course.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Rick Dalton, trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was keen in the early part of this race.

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Brewel Hill, trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right from the halfway mark.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, P.A. Harnett, rider of Tudor City, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was flat out all the way.

138C Fairyhouse Chill & Grill H'cap

W.J. Lee, rider of Matt Connor, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right from one hundred yards out.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident just before the turn in involving St Faz (FR), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, One Aim, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, unplaced, Union Flag, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed sixth, and Red Carpet, ridden by W.M. Lordan where it appeared Union Flag had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L.F. Roche stated that he could not hold his position, that his mount is big and green and also that he had room everywhere. N.G. McCullagh stated that he held his position on the rail. W.M. Lordan stated he raced wide and kept his line. J.A. Heffernan stated that his mount raced keen but felt he did not cause any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards could not apportion blame to any rider and so took no further action.
Mr. M. Hickey (Chairman) recused himself from this enquiry and was replaced by Mr. J. McGrath.

138D Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sierra Nevada (USA), trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

W.J. Lee, rider of Blazing Skies, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered after the first furlong.

S. Foley, rider of Sierra Nevada (USA), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount changed legs a couple of times and never picked up.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Dancing Tango, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a check early in the straight.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Coill Na Sionainne, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check after one furlong.

J.A. Powell, rider of My Minervina, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keen.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after the start involving Blazing Skies, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed sixth, Dancing Tango, ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, placed first, Coill Na Sionainne, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed fourth, and My Minervina, ridden by J.A. Powell where it appeared they got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. N.M. Crosse stated that he had to take a check because it was getting a bit tight for room. C. Stone- Walsh stated that he was clear of interference but stumbled on a ridge. W.J. Lee stated that he received pressure from his outside and it got a bit tight for room. J.A. Powell stated that his mount ran away with him and was out of control. He also stated that he felt he done all he could to avoid causing any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that any interference was caused by J.A. Powell's mount running free in the early part of this race and so took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blazing Skies, trained by W. McCreery, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

138E End Of School Year M'dn

W.J. Lee, rider of Mimosa Park, trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled on the ground.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Baalbec Beauty, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed third, and Paradise Perfect (USA), ridden by K.W. De Oliveira, placed second, where it appeared Paradise Perfect may have caused interference to Baalbec Beauty by drifting right. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Maestro Stick (GB), trained by Keith Henry Clarke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run in the straight.

K.J. Leonard, rider of El Maga, trained by Tom McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped awkwardly from the starting stalls.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Jazzy Dancer, trained by W.J. Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount acted up in the starting stalls.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, D.E. Sheehy, rider of Amanirenas, trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away.

The Raceday Stewards informed James McAuley, trainer that Caesar's Comet, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

J.A. Powell, rider of Pulse Of Shanghai, trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was short of room in the straight.

D.E. Sheehy, rider of Woodrow, trained by Leanne Breen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stood in the stalls when the gates opened.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Plankton, trained by Andrew McNamara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not get a clear run.
