The Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of Downtown Diva, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S. Foley was in breach of Regulation 10.4 in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond. Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned S. Foley.
Mr. P.N. Reynolds, Chairman, absented himself from this enquiry which was chaired by Mr. S. Barry.

366D 32Red Fillies Race

W.J. Lee, rider of Hope Lake trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action at the 2 furlong pole and regained it in the straight.

The Stewards informed R. K. Watson, trainer of Blue Suede, that his charge would be liable to a future suspension should he refuse to start from stalls again. .

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hope Lake, trained by P. Twomey, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards informed Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer that Irish Minister (USA), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Stewards interviewed M.J. Tynan, trainer, in relation to the suitability of Shane Cross, a 10 lb claiming apprentice, to ride Little Ambitious in this race, and as to why this horse was led to the start contrary to Rule 153 (vi). Also present was D. Byrne, authorised representative of J.P. O' Brien, master for Shane Cross. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that the behaviour of Little Ambitious on this occasion was out of character and it was her first time in a tongue strap. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards reminded M.J. Tynan and D. Byrne of their respective responsibilities in this regard.

366H (Q.R.) H'cap

The Stewards fined Paul Hennessy, trainer, €350 for failing to lodge the passport in respect of Pillard (FR), in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Pillard (FR).

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the early stages of this race involving Uncle Henry, ridden by Mr T. Hamilton, All's Quiet, ridden by Mr R. Deegan, and Paddy The Celeb, ridden by Mr E. Halford, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. T. Hamilton was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his previous good record in this regard, the Stewards suspended Mr. T. Hamilton for 3 racedays. Furthermore the Stewards reminded Mr. Hamilton of the need to give accurate evidence in the future.
