K.J. Leonard, rider of Monsieur Piquer (FR) trained by Christian Delcros, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled very hard in the early stages of the race.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Monsieur Piquer (FR), trained by Christian Delcros, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
012B Irishinjuredjockeys.com H'capThe Stewards interviewed L.W. Browne, rider of Lady De Vesci, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found L. W. Browne in breach of Regulation 10.3 (b), the unnecessary hitting of a horse after its chance of winning or being placed is clearly gone. Having considered L. W. Browne's record in this regard the stewards cautioned him on this occasion. Mr. Derry Nolan accompanied L. W. Browne at this enquiry.
012C2 Fundraise At Dundalk Stadium H'capThe Stewards interviewed G.P. Halpin, rider of Silk Cravat (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found G. P. Halpin in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) excessive frequency. Having considered G. P. Halpin's record in this regard and pursuant to Regulation 10.6 (a) the stewards suspended G. P. Halpin for six racedays. Mr. J. M. McGrath absented himself from this enquiry.
012D Crowne Plaza Race & Stay H'capThe Stewards requested a report from J.P. Murtagh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Parkers Hill, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ms. Valerie Keatley, authorised representative for J. P. Murtagh stated that the change in head gear and being ridden more prominently had helped to bring about the improvement in form when compared to its previous run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
Sabrina J. Harty, trainer of Have A Nice Day (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge made a respiratory noise in the home straight.
D.E. Sheehy, rider of Fashaar (GB) trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was awkward out of the gates.
T.P. Madden, rider of Eastern Racer trained by Sean Byrne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. L. Malone, that S.B. Kelly, rider of Parkers Hill, was not able to weigh out at the designated weight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards found S. B. Kelly in breach of Rule 195 and 198 (vii). Having considered S. B. Kelly's record in this regard the stewards fined S. B. Kelly €150 on this occasion.
012E Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dnS.M. Mooney, rider of Philly's Hope trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very slowly away from the stalls.
P.A. Harnett, rider of Baby Bear trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped right leaving the stalls.
The Stewards interviewed Luke W. Comer, trainer of Reckless Lass, concerning the conduct of this horse who refused to load. The Stewards advised Luke W. Comer that having considered Reckless Lass's previous record in this regard and pursuant to Rule 14 they imposed a suspension of 28 days on Recklass Lass.
The Stewards informed Luke W. Comer, trainer that Reckless Lass, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
