The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Bright Idea, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed third, Nibiru, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, placed fifth and Firstman (FR), ridden by Siobhan Rutledge, placed first, where it appeared Nibiru ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that he kept straight and suffered no interference. D. W. O'Connor stated that he suffered minor interference but it was unlikely that it cost him anything. Siobhan Rutledge stated that her mount drifted right but she corrected him as soon as she heard a shout. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature, and they took no further action.

Sam Ewing, rider of Hightown Heights trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly into stride.

The Stewards interviewed Annalise Cullen, rider of Wrapitup, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that she was in breach of the regulation and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Annalise Cullen was in breach of Regulation 10.3.b, the unnecessary hitting of the horse after its chance of winning or being placed is clearly gone. Having considered Annalise Cullen's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned her on this occasion.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Sunset Nova trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung wide throughout.

S. Foley, rider of Riva trained by Mark Michael McNiff, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action up the straight.

Annalise Cullen, rider of Wrapitup trained by Denis W. Cullen, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount missed the break.

S. Foley, rider of Palifico (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost its action in the straight.

The Stewards requested a report from Kevin Prendergast, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Bears Hug, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. John O'Sullivan, authorised representative for the trainer concerned stated that his charge was badly drawn, slowly away and trapped out wide over seven furlongs last time out. He added that the horse broke much better today and the race went to suit him helping to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Palifico (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame right hind.
