347A Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dn
D.E. Hogan, rider of Porterinthejungle trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly right in the straight.
347B Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sheisdiesel (GB), trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving stalls involving Descendant (GB), ridden by D.M. Simmonson, Poetic Choice (GB), ridden by R.C. Colgan, Caridade (USA), ridden by M.A. Gallagher, and Time Stands Still (GB), ridden by D.P. Linehan, where it appeared D.M. Simmonson became unseated. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. The Stewards also received a report from the IHRB Starter, Mr. J.R. Banahan, that a leather was found on the course, which was presented to the Stewards along with the saddle. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by the stirrup leather becoming detached in-running and took no further action.
347D Happy Christmas From All At Dundalk M'dnThe Stewards fined Jane M. Foley, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Private Jackson, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Private Jackson in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
347E Leading Jockey&Trainer Awards 2018 H'capB.M. Coen, rider of Amanaat trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away.
347F1 Crowne Plaza Race & Stay H'capThe Stewards fined Mark Fahey, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Cappadocia, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Cappadocia in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
The Stewards considered a request from E. O'Connell, trainer of Gillabbey Rock, for the substitution of D.M. Simmonson (unwell) with P.A. Harnett. The Stewards considered the matter under Rule 198 and consulted with the handicapper. Having taken into account the conditions of the race and the lack of any other licenced rider qualified to ride in the race, the Stewards considered the circumstances to be very exceptional, allowed the substitution and the rider to carry 5lbs overweight.
At the request of the Stewards, C.D. Maxwell, rider of Mr Michael, trained by Adrian Brendan Joyce, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became unruly in stalls and was very slowly away.
347F2 Crowne Plaza Race & Stay H'capM.A. Gallagher, rider of Turn On The Tears (USA) trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran erratically, hanging left and right and resented facing the kickback.
The Stewards interviewed S.M. Mooney, rider of Confident Kid (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10.3.(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his clean previous record into account cautioned him.

The Stewards heard a concern from Anthony McCann, trainer, regarding the racecourse maintenance staff commencing the cleaning out of stables process while racing was in progress with a large trailer being used which in his opinion could become a safety problem should anything untoward happen. Having heard Mr. McCann's concerns, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO for further investigation.
