The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on the turn into the straight involving Cross Border (GB), ridden by B.M. Coen, placed third, and Loma Larnee (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed fourth, where it appeared interference may have taken place. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

263D Grant Thornton Nursery H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference at the road crossing involving The Bear Trap, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, Expecto, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed fourth, and Finsceal Annie, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that he received a knock on bump from his right but it didn't affect his position. R.P. Cleary stated that he received a bump from his inner which cost him valuable momentum which he felt cost him third place. J.A. Powell stated that his filly ducked left at the road crossing bumping the horse on his outer but he did his best to correct her. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Finsceal Annie had caused interference to Expecto and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the third and fourth placed horses and amended the result to read as follows:

Amended Result:
First: Velvet Skies
Second: The Bear Trap
Third: Expecto
Fourth: Finsceal Annie
Fifth: Poppadom
Sixth: Rogerwaswrong

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that J.A. Powell had taken all reasonable steps to prevent the interference from occurring and therefore took no further action.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Expecto, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a very bad bump at the road crossing which cost him third place.

J.A. Powell, rider of Finsceal Annie, trained by Liam McAteer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and ducked left at the road crossing.

263E Grant Thornton Ulster Cesarewitch H'cap

Adam Caffrey, rider of Magnetic North, trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never let himself down.

J. Kearney, rider of Arabian King (GB), trained by Cian Michael Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slightly slow away from the starting stalls.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend into the straight involving King Of Wessex, ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, and Neverfindanother U, ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed sixth, where it appeared King Of Wessex had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated he had to take a check when getting pressure from his right. G.M. Ryan stated he was edging out for his challenge as King Of Wessex was dropping away. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
