The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ivybrook (FR), trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be showing signs of delayed recovery post race.
382B Red Mills Irish EBF Auction M'dn H'dleA. Harvey, rider of Busy Being Busy, trained by Neil McKnight, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too keen.
382C Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dleC. Owens, rider of Nathaniel's Dream (GB), trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't handle the ground.
382D Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners S'chThe Raceday Stewards interviewed T.P. Harney, rider of On Lovers Walk, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and stated that his mount was responding. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that T.P. Harney was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and 10.3(i)(time to respond). Having considered his clean record in both these regards, they suspended him for four racedays.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on approach to the last fence involving El Champo, ridden by T. Power Roche, placed fourth, and Global Export, ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, placed first, where it appeared the two horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
382E Metcollect H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Without Exception, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on approach to the last fence involving Tankardstown Diva, ridden by J. Smith, fell, and Le Malin (FR), ridden by Mr N. McParlan, placed first, where it appeared contact was made between the two. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr N. McParlan, rider of Le Malin (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount is blind in his right eye. The IHRB Veterinary Officer also reported that Le Malin has a very shrunken eye which has sunk back into his head and carries his head at an unusual angle. Mr N. McParlan further added he was leaning right the whole way round and felt he used his whip down the shoulder for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence including photographic evidence from the IHRB Veterinary Officer who reported that the horse was marked, the Raceday Stewards gave Mr N. McParlan the benefit of the doubt on this occasion with regards frequency and time to respond but found him in breach of R.10.3(f)(force) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
382F Metcollect Oil Recycling Hunters S'chaseMr S. Connor, rider of Dorking Cock, trained by S.R.B. Crawford, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and pulled up.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the final bend involving Go Another One, ridden by Mr B.T. Stone, unplaced, Ramillies, ridden by Mr D. McGill, placed fourth, and Vina Ardanza, ridden by Mr D.G. Lavery, placed fifth, where it appeared the three horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr B.T. Stone stated that his mount just started finding again when things got a little bit tight. Mr D.G. Lavery stated that things got tight on the inside but he kept a straight line. Mr D. McGill stated that he had a look beside him because his mount was hanging in when he changed legs. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr D. McGill, rider of Ramillies, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr D. McGill was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.
