G.P. Brouder, rider of Hollys Honour trained by J.G. Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mounts saddle slipped.
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. J. Walsh, that G.P. Brouder, rider of Hollys Honour, placed fifth, weighed in light. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he felt his saddle slip and as a result the lead cloth became dislodged during the race. G. P. Brouder accepted that he weighed in thirteen pounds light. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Hollys Honour under the provisions of Rule 231.
As a consequence, they amended the result to read as follows:
