The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference over one furlong from the finish involving Sturlasson, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second, and Spanish Cara, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed third, where it appeared that Sturlasson drifted off a straight racing line and into the path of Spanish Cara. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Cleary stated that he had tracked Sturlasson but that animal drifted when he was making his challenge on Spanish Cara causing her to check. He added that it took a while to get his mount going again and she ran on well to the line. D.P. McDonogh stated that he was doing his best to keep his mount straight by riding hard on the right hand rein and could not do any more owing to the animals greenness. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Sturlasson had caused interference to Spanish Cara, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action. .

In his evidence, M.A. Enright stated that he should have made a post race report but he had received a knock to his shoulder when his mount got very upset in the starting stalls, reared up and was slowly away. He added that he sought medical attention when returning to the weigh room. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards considered that there were mitigating circumstances on this occasion and did not take any further action other than to remind him of his responsibilities to comply with Rule 213.

Heffernan, unplaced, where it appeared that Angels Wrath checked when trying to get through on the inside of Agartha who was holding the rails position. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J.A. Heffernan stated that he anticipated that Agartha might run off the rails and he lined up his own mount for a possible gap but it did not materialise. D.P. McDonogh stated that there was no room for anybody to come through on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
