Adrian O'Shea, rider of Writewhenyouland trained by Mrs.A.M.O'Shea, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst in running.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Writewhenyouland trained by Mrs.A.M.O'Shea was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.
217B CorkRacecourse.ie H'capG.M. Ryan, rider of Fugacious trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room and was squeezed about two and a half furlongs from the finish.
The Stewards enquired into an incident about two and a half furlongs from the finish involving Fugacious, ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed third, Fall For A Kiss, ridden by D. McMonagle, unplaced, Tio Esteban (FR), ridden by W.T. Byrne, unplaced, Agent Zero (FR), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth and Lady Savanah, ridden by D.E. Sheehy, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of John Joseph Murphy, trainer, who accompanied D. McMonagle. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental in nature and therefore took no further action.
The Stewards requested a report from Edward Lynam, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Chagall, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mrs. Aileen Lynam, Authorised Representative for the trainer reported that the first time application of blinkers appeared to have the desired affect and in her opinion had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
217E Mallow H'capThe Stewards requested a report from Augustine Leahy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Principalship (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge had ran too free over a longer trip on its previous run and was of the opinion that a return to the minimum trip and the first time application of a tongue tie had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
217F Thank You To The Frontline Workers H'capD. McMonagle, rider of Awaasef (GB) trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared as the stalls opened.
Nikita Amelia Kane, rider of Complete Fiction trained by Dermot Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was slowly away.
G.P. Brouder, rider of Craic Eile trained by David Kenneth Budds, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared as the stalls opened.
217G Blarney H'capFollowing an inspection of the course prior to the running of the seventh race, Mr. T. V O'Connell I.H.R.B Clerk of the Course, reported to the Stewards that parts of the track had become waterlogged making it unfit for racing. Having considered Mr. O'Connell's report and viewed a recording of that area of the track, the Stewards abandoned the final race.
