The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

L.F. Roche rode Airgead (reserve) trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs (Race 3)
W.J. Lee rode Eastern Racer (reserve) trained by James McAuley (Race 3)

251A Irish EBF Auction Series M'dn

W.J. Lee, rider of Betterdaysrcoming trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jammed on approaching the road.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms.J.Walsh, that S.T. McCullagh, rider of Quiz Test, had weighed back in 1.2Ib overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had sweated a lot during the race and this may have caused him coming back in heavy. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S.T. McCullagh was in breach of Rule 231(iii), and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 2 racedays.

251B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med. Auct. M'dn

D. McMonagle, rider of Brazen Bruce (GB) trained by Gary McGill, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tigh for room on the top bend tuning into the home straight.

The Stewards reviewed an incident turning into the home straight involving Brazen Bruce (GB), ridden by D. McMonagle, and Black Bridie, ridden by C.D. Maxwell where it appeared Brazen Bruce got tight for room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

251C1 Southgate Centre Drogheda H'cap

R. Whearty, rider of Harbanaker trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from stalls.

D. McMonagle, rider of Shawaf (GB) trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right in the home straight.

251C2 Southgate Centre Drogheda H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from James McAuley, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Caesar's Comet, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mr McAuley stated that his charge had a wide draw on his last run at Gowran Park on July 23rd 2022, and he also stated that he has previous good form at Bellewstown, this he felt helped bring about todays improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

D.N. Curran, rider of Stop On Red trained by J.G.Coogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had no luck in running.

M.P. Sheehy, rider of Designer Cailin trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right.

251D Lougher H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Aristovic, trained by J.F. Levins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Brown Eagle trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right up the straight.

G.F. Carroll, rider of Flag High trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keenly and hung left throughout.

251E J H McLoughlin Oil H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jarvis, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Scarlet Dancer trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right from about two furlongs down.

251F Meath Farm Machinery (Fillies) M'dn

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Honeycomb trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got slightly intimidated from a horse on his outside turning down the back straight, and took a false step.

J.A. Powell, rider of Winning Mischief trained by D.Harvey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from stalls.

W.J. Lee, rider of Chemdawg trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from stalls.

251G Panda Power (QR) H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from S. Curling, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Monas Melody, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Galway on July 25th 2022 where she pulled up. Mr. Curling, trainer stated the todays better ground suited his charge and a less competitive race helped bring about todays improvement. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards interviewed Mr H.C. Swan, rider of Stellium, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated he lost count but apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. Swan was in breach of R 10.3(g) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion.
