The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the first bend involving Guest Star (GB), ridden by J. Cleary, placed third, I Bid You Ajou (FR), ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced, and Step To Somewhere (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fifth, where it appeared C.D. Hayes had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Cleary stated that he felt pressure from his outside. R.P. Whelan stated that he was taking back off heels and received a shout from C.D. Hayes. C.D. Hayes stated that there was room inside R.P. Whelan and as he went for the gap Guest Star appeared down his inside and he ran short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the evidence and took no further action.

J. Cleary, rider of Guest Star (GB), trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was squeezed at the first bend.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the home straight involving Jack Spriggins, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed second, Nika Pika, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed third, and More Profit, ridden by R. Whearty, placed fifth, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. Whearty stated that he had to check inside the furlong pole and felt it had cost him a place. R.C. Colgan stated that his mount was a very difficult ride and ran off every bend. He further added that he had his whip in his left hand and as he struck his mount she drifted right. He concluded by stating that he felt B.M. Coen came out to meet him. B.M. Coen stated that his mount was being lairy and was concentrating more on Nika Pika rather than going forward. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Nika Pika had caused interference to More Profit, she did not improve her finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that R.C. Colgan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Nika Pika, trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and right.

R. Whearty, rider of More Profit, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount checked inside the furlong pole.

Dermot Gilmartin, Authorised Representative for the trainer, reported that the race was not run to suit the last day. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of No Hassle, trained by Shane Ryder, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned badly right in the home straight and was dismounted after the line.

K.G. Kennedy, rider of Albatala, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check turning in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
