W.M. Roper / Kingsdalemillenium Referral

W.M. Roper / Kingsdalemillenium – Cork, 22nd August 2009

The Referrals Committee, Dr. Gordon A. Holmes (in the Chair), Mr. Edward Flannery and Mr. P.J.A. O’Connor met at the Turf Club, The Curragh, Co. Kildare on 11th November 2009 to consider the referral of W.M. Roper, Trainer, in respect of the running of Kingsdalemillenium at Cork on 22nd August 2009, in the Pallas 4-y-o Maiden Hurdle, when the horse was not qualified to run as he had been suspended at Killarney for two days on the previous day as a result of being a non-runner in the Ross Golf Club/Killarney Racegoers Club Handicap.

Evidence was heard from W.M. Roper, Trainer.

Having considered the evidence the Committee fined Mr. Roper €200 and requested that the fine be paid to the Injured Jockeys Fund.  In imposing the fine at such a low level the Committee took into account Mr. Roper’s extraordinarily good disciplinary record.

The case was presented by Mr. Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.
