165D Stena Line Horizon S'chase

The Stewards requested a report from C.Byrnes, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Arnaud, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed the last day in a competitive race at Aintree, when on his head throughout. He added that the drop into a less competitive race with fewer runners, helped his charge return to form. He concluded by saying that his horse's seem in better form at the moment. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

165E Stena Line Europe Beginners S'chase

M.P. Walsh, rider of Tiger Bay Lady, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount refused to race after a fair start had been effected, may have resented the first time blinkers.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Is Love Alive (GB), trained by Paul Nolan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be slightly lame post race.

165F Carrickbyrne H'cap S'chase

The Stewards fined D.M. Christie, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Bullock Harbour, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards received a report from Turf Club Starter,Mr.P.F.Graffin, that L.P. Dempsey, rider of Illtakeitfromhere contributed to the false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 208, in that he anticipated the start and disobeyed the starters instructions and having considered his record, suspended him for three race days.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Carpet Elegance trained by Thomas J.Farrell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered in running.

165G Campile INH Flat Race

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Don'tdropmein, ridden by Mr R.J. Kiely, placed second and Hows Patsy, ridden by Mr D. Skehan, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings and took no further action.

Andrew Slattery, trainer of Don'tdropmein, reported to the Stewards' that his charge lost his right fore shoe in running.
