The following trainer was fined €200 for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provision of Rule 194(v) (vi):

Denis W. Cullen for Major Walker at Wexford 17th March 2014.

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

M.P. Walsh rode I Knew Well (reserve), trained by T.J. Taaffe (Race 2).
E.J. O'Connell replaced D.E. Splaine on Kalico Kalista, trained by John Patrick Ryan (Race 3)(Injured).
A.E. Lynch replaced D.E. Splaine on Beau Michael (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness (Race 4)(Injured).
E.J. O'Connell replaced D.E. Splaine on Glenquest, trained by Terence O'Brien (Race 5)(Injured).

051A Wexford Racecourse Supp Club M'dn H'dle

E.J. O'Connell, rider of Shantou Flyer trained by Colin Bowe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount gurgled from the top of the hill.

051B Join The Supporters Club Today M'dn Hdle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Keep Swinging, trained by Michael P. Hourigan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

Patrick Breen, trainer of Tamam Namoose, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge scoped badly post race.

051C St. Patrick's Day Novice H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed J.L. Cullen, rider, in relation to the fact that he attempted to weigh in without a stirrup iron and leather following this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and apologised for his actions. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 272 and having taken his previous record in this regard into account, they suspended him for one race day and severely cautioned him as to his future conduct in this regard.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Seamus Mor, at the request of the trainer, Colin Kidd, and reported the animal to have burst a blood vessel in running.

051E Arctic Tack Stud Veterans H'cap S'chase

M.A. Enright, rider of Caduceus trained by P. Hughes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.

051F McGuinness Auctioneers Novice H'cap S'ch

The Stewards requested a report from Henry de Bromhead, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of An Dearthair Og, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that today's drying ground conditions in what he felt was a moderate contest, had brought about today's improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

051G Knockhouse Stud (M) (P-Am) INH Flat Race

The Stewards received a report from Ms Joan Taylor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, that she was unable to positively identify Royal Dictum (GB), trained by Eoin Doyle, from the markings contained in the passport presented for this horse. Evidence was heard from Mr. Ray Cody, authorised representative for the trainer and the Turf Club Veterinary Officer. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Royal Dictum (GB) and referred the matter to the Turf Club for further investigation.
