The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

P. T. Enright rode Hilltop Supreme (reserve) , trained by D.E.Fitzgerald (Race 3)
B. J. Cooper replaced D.N. Russell on Dortmund Park (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 6)(Injured)
P. D. Kennedy replaced R.M. Power on Hotel Du Nord (FR), trained by Mrs John Harrington (Race 6)(injured)
D. E. Mullins replaced P. Townend on Max Dynamite (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 6)(Injured)

053A Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the fact that nine of the sixteen runners had to re-weigh before this race, causing a ten minute delay to the start. Evidence was heard from Mr. L. Wyer, Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board Clerk Of The Course who confirmed that the weights on the card were correct despite being in the incorrect order. Evidence was also heard from The Clerk of the Scales, Mr. Liam Walsh. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board for further investigation.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Feelgood Island (FR), ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan and trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle. Evidence was heard from J.P. O'Sullivan and James Rath. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Feelgood Island was post race normal. During the course of this enquiry it came to the attention of the Stewards that the trainer had not appointed an authorised representative to act on her behalf. In the circumstances the matter was referred to the Referrals Committee of The Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Streets Of Doyen, ridden by P.J. McGrath, and trained by John C. McConnell. Evidence was heard from the rider and the trainer's representative Martin Fox. P.J. McGrath, stated that his instructions were to jump off mid devision and to achieve the best possible finishing position. He stated that he had mistakingly anticipated a false start and as a result had got a very bad position from the start. Martin Fox, confirmed the instructions given but under the circumstances confirmed his satisfaction with the ride that Streets of Doyen had been given. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Streets of Doyen was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given.

053B BetVictor H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Karl Der Grosse (GER) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.

053C BetVictor H'cap H'dle

M.A. Enright, rider of Memory Of Youth trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the third flight and never travelled thereafter.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Johnny Little Legs, trained by Sean O. O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

The Stewards requested a report from Adrian Murray, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of My Newbrook Rose, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Adrian Murray reported that his charge did not handle the heavy going on its previous run, that it had run very well the time before and furthermore his charge was previously a Point to Point winner on similar ground to todays. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

053D Pierce Molony Memorial Novice S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Capuccimix (FR), trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have minor skin abrasions to both hind legs but to be otherwise post race normal.

053E Duggan Veterinary H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Persian Wind trained by J.P.Dempsey was found to have blood at both nostrils when examined post race, as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

R.A. Doyle, rider of Wishmoor trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount found todays going too quick.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wishmoor, trained by J.F. Levins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

D.J. McInerney, rider of Goodnightngodbless trained by J.Motherway, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not travel during the early stages of this race.

053F Horse & Jockey Beginners S'chase

The Stewards enquired into an incident after the forth last fence involving Chesterfield King, ridden by L.P. Dempsey, and Max Dynamite (FR), ridden by D. E. Mullins, where it appeared that Chesterfield King ran short of room and unseated rider. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found D. E. Mullins in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden improperly. Having considered D. E. Mullins record in this regard the Stewards suspended D. E. Mullins for four racedays.

053G www.thurlesraces.ie (P-Am) INH Flat Race

The Stewards received a report from Ms. Nicola O' Connor, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, that she was unable to positively identify Kapard (GB), trained by Henry de Bromhead, from the markings contained in the passport presented for this horse. Evidence was heard from the trainer's Authorised Representative, Alan Coady and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Kapard (GB) and referred the matter to the C.E.O of the Irish Horse Racing Regulatory body for further investigation.

The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Hogan, rider of Mahons Glory, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr. J. Hogan in breach of Regulation 10. 3 (g) excessive frequency and (i) time to respond. Having considered Mr. J. Hogan's record in this regard the stewards suspended Mr. J. Hogan for one raceday.

E. Walsh, rider of Vartry Avenue trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle todays going.

E. J. O'Grady, trainer of Street Fighter, reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board on Monday 23rd March that his charge flipped his palate during this race.
