The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Eoin Griffin, trainer of Pashtunwali (Declared in error) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

B. Hayes rode Le Feu Garde (reserve) , trained by Michael J. McDonagh (Race 4)
Mr B.J. Foley rode Last Opera, trained by Gerard Keane (Race 7)(No rider nominated)
Mr R.P. Quinlan rode Brown Monty (reserve) , trained by Noel G. Hynds (Race 7)

138C Ivan Connaughton Auctioneer H'cap H'dle

R.A. Doyle, rider of Dr Linzi trained by Noel Lawlor, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having lost his action in running.

138E Athlone H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into incidents before and after the last hurdle involving Cape Glory, ridden by B.J. Cooper, placed first, Wood Breizh (FR), ridden by R. Walsh, placed third, Bishopslough, ridden by M.A. Enright, placed fifth and From Frost (GB), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed second, where it appeared that both Bishopslough and From Frost (GB) were tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise B.J. Cooper to ride with more care.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Tribes And Banner trained by Norman Lee, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran too free during the earlier part of this race.

138G Ladies Day July 6th INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Gerard Keane, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Last Opera. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he had sought the services of some of the leading Qualified Riders but secured Mr B.J. Foley very late on the advice of another rider. He added that he only had minutes to nominate this rider and he could not make internet contact with the H.R.I by the deadline. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards cautioned Gerard Keane concerning his responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards interviewed Mr B.J. Foley, rider of Last Opera, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr B.J. Foley was in breach of R10(3)(b) by continuously using his whip when out of contention and suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.
