The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Patrick Mooney, trainer of Full Shilling (Passport not lodged) - €350.

The Stewards interviewed K.J. Leonard, rider of Fast In The Wind, concerning his use of the whip in the last two furlongs of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider and P.D. Deegan, trainer of Fast In The Wind. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Leonard was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his previous record into consideration suspended him for 3 racedays. .

The Stewards enquired into an incident soon after the start involving Castle Guest, ridden by S. Foley, placed fifth, Reckless Lad, ridden by O.J. Orr, unplaced, Canary Row, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed second and Marshall Jennings, ridden by C. O'Donoghue, placed first, where it appeared that the runners bunched resulting in interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Patrick Martin represented O.J. Orr and James Nash represented D. O'Brien at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

C. O'Donoghue, rider of Marshall Jennings trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly to the right when challenging about one and a half furlongs from the finish .

C.D. Hayes, rider of Busy Bush, trained by J.T.Gorman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was unable to find an opening to challenge and was eased up.
