The Stewards fined A. Oliver, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Collision Course, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving The Happy Prince, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed first, Penny Pepper, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed second, Romiac, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed third and Well Done Me, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed seventh. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings and took no further action.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Snakes And Ladders, trained by Niall Madden, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be trotting short post race.

The Stewards requested a report from Peter Fahey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Bootsandbars, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his first start of the year at Gowran, it being his first handicap. The trainer added that his charge improved from the experience. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

M.Halford, trainer of Duchessofflorence (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was showing signs of being in season pre race.
