The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Back To Bracka, ridden by D.R. Fox, and trained by Noel C. Kelly. Evidence was heard from the rider who stated that his instructions were to settle his mount three quarters way back and to try switch him off as he had been keen on his last start. He added that the horse ran free with the slow early pace and lost his position turning in before staying on in the latter stages. He concluded by saying that he pushed the horse out hands and heals, having been instructed not to over use the whip. Don Mooney, representing Noel C. Kelly, trainer, also attended the enquiry and expressed his satisfaction with the ride . The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Back To Bracka was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered, however they did advise the rider to be seen to be making more of an effort in future.

E.J. O'Connell, rider of Colms Dream trained by Karl Thornton, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.
