The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Luke Comer, trainer of Dancingatmidnight (Passport Irregularity) - €250.

The Stewards interviewed K.J. Manning, rider of Ceisteach, winner, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion K.J. Manning was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record in this regard into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

The Stewards received a report from a representative of D.J. Bunyan, trainer of Laraaj, unplaced, stating their filly burst a blood vessel.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the home straight involving Fascinating Rock, ridden by P.J. Smullen, winner, Adjusted, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed second, Asknotwhat, ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, and Maskoon (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced, where it appeared interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and took no further action.

K.J. Manning, rider of Austere Approach, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung right on leaving the stalls, losing considerable ground.

W.J. Lee, rider of Asknotwhat, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung left on the turn into the home straight and was eventually eased.

060C Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial Stakes

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Indian Maharaja, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be stiff behind.

The Stewards fined John Joseph Murphy, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Nini Ok, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

060F Mothers Day At Leopardstown H'cap

N.G. McCullagh, rider of Indian Icon (FR), trained by D. T. Hughes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never seemed happy on todays ground.
