The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Liam's Approval, ridden by E. Greatrex, and trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. E. Greatrex, stated that his instructions were to drop in, gather him up and teach him something, pass a few horses and do the best he could. In the race it was messy on the inside, his mount ran in snatches, he gave him a kick but he's a big raw horse and he pushed him all the way to the line. The trainer's representative Mr. Brendan Powell, confirmed the instructions and expressed his satisfaction with the ride given. He said that from the draw the rider was told to break where he could and get him balanced. He had raced over further last time where he was ridden handier. He felt the horse wants a further trip in time. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that this horse had broken an incisor but was otherwise post race normal. The rider confirmed that the horse had banged his head in the stalls. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Stewards informed Sarah Dawson, trainer that Queen Emily (GB), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fiscal Rules, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from A.P.O'Brien, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Royal Dornoch, placed first, as compared with his two earlier runs in Group 1 company. The trainer's representative Mr. Pat Keating reported that a drop in class, being freshened up since his last run at Royal Ascot and a truly run race all comtributed to his improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

S. Foley, rider of Ancient Spirit (GER), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung.

197F Holden Plant Rentals H'cap

W.J. Lee, rider of Drakensberg trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stumbled on leaving stalls.

At the request of the Stewards, W.J. Lee, rider of Drakensberg, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled on leaving stalls and he got him corrected, it took him a while to get him balanced at which stage the race had gone.

S.M. Crosse, rider of Zoom Zoom Babe (GB) trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got no luck in running.

197H Leopardstown H'cap

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the final furlong involving Daayeb ridden by C.D. Hayes and Philly's Hope ridden by Leigh Roche where it appeared that the two horses bumped. Having reviewed the recording and considered the matter the Stewards decided that no further action was warranted.

The Stewards requested a report from Mrs John Harrington, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Pixel Power, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that they had intended making the running with this filly today but that didn't happen. However the drop into this lower grade and the first time application of sheepskin cheek pieces may have accounted for the return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
